Crumhorn, Great Bass in
Bb, Lyn Elder Italian model, excellent condition, easy playing, dry-play reed, sealed bore for
strong, focused sound. This is an excellent instrument! Use a
great bass in Bb to help you play at 6-foot pitch--sounding down a
fifth: Pretend the Bb GtB is a bass in F; pretend the bass in F is
a tenor in C; pretend the tenor in C is an alto in G; pretend the alto
in F is a soprano in C. This results in your consort sounding down
a fifth, a great range for Renaissance music. Or just learn Bb
fingerings and play a great bass part. $2500.

by Jacques Du Mensil made in 1647. It is perfect for music published by
Playford as well as the wealth of dance-tune books of the period from
